Edge blending is the process of overlapping the edges of an image to make a brighter, higher resolution, bigger image projected by two or multiple projectors. When displaying an image with multiple projectors some of the image will overlap. You can choose to make this overlap bigger or smaller depending on what you think will fit best.  

• No overlap at all will give you a thin line between the displays. This can either be white or black depending on your settings. The line may be very thin, but will most likely still be very obvious to the human eye.  
• When your projectors are overlapping the brightness levels will not immediately correlate. With edge blending functionality, you can change the brightness in certain places of you display. You can bring down the brightness levels in the overlapping areas in order that the combined brightness of the two projectors make the image appear seamless. Using multiple projectors like this can be difficult and there is a chance you will always see the overlap, but thanks to today’s advanced solution making a seamless display using projector blending is easier than ever.

The goal here is to make your audience believe that everything is projected with one single projector. Edge blending projectors are very easy to use and will give you a big vertical or horizontal display, but you don’t need edge blending projectors for this; lining up projectors and using external edge blending controllers will be more reliable and flexible.
