Elevating Immersive Art to New Heights: GeoBox in Hyundai Futurenet’s Le Space

About Le Space

Despite the turmoil and challenges of 2024, the proAV industry continues to achieve remarkable breakthroughs that bring hope and beauty to our world. Among all these achievements, Le Space is undoubtedly worth noting.

Hyundai Futurenet, the ICT specialist within the Hyundai Department Store Group, has unveiled “Le Space,” a next-generation immersive media art exhibition hall. As Korea’s largest facility of its kind, Le Space combines media art exhibitions with theme park experiences to create an immersive sensory journey of light, sound, and interaction. This groundbreaking project demonstrates Hyundai Futurenet’s commitment to advancing the immersive media art industry.

On behalf of our esteemed partners ElectroSmith and GeoBox headquarters VNS, we are pleased to share our findings. In a project of this magnitude, there is zero tolerance for error. GeoBox delivers a streamlined and exceptionally reliable technical configuration.

A Vision Beyond the Cosmos

Spanning 6,142 square meters, Le Space brings to life its “Beyond the Cosmos” concept through 18 distinct zones. Visitors journey from the Cosmo Station Zone through the Wormhole Zone to the Parallel Universe, each area designed to deliver a captivating multi-sensory experience. The exhibition goes beyond visual storytelling by incorporating fog effects and carefully chosen scents to create an immersive atmosphere. Motion detection, touch recognition, and sound detection technologies further enhance the interactive experience.

Innovative Solutions Behind Le Space

Le Space’s immersive environment emerged from collaborations with leading content production and technology partners. Dotmill Inc., a prominent system integrator, created content for key zones including Parallel Universe, Humanoid, and Cosmo Station. The company also orchestrated the server and hardware system construction across all 18 zones, delivering seamless integration and performance.

Projection Excellence with Barco and GeoBox

At the heart of Le Space’s immersive displays are 150 Barco projectors paired with GeoBox’s advanced video processing technology.  50 Contrôleurs de fusion des bords GeoBox handle critical tasks like signal splitting, warping, and blending for multiple signals streamed from the TouchDesigner servers, ensuring perfect synchronization and visual precision across the expansive installation.

The renowned Dotmill technical team called GeoBox an elegant solution that makes challenging work easier. This explains all.

Why Barco? When dealing with a 6,142-square-meter canvas, only a few brands deliver the required projection power—and Barco leads the pack. GeoBox, being a Barco certified technological partner enhances system architecture by simplifying complex workflows, offering unparalleled reliability in mission-critical environments.
