Video wall controller: Top 5 reasons why using it
Why you should use stand-alone video wall controller instead of daisychaining your displays
Large display add excitement and a “WOW” factor to any space whether it’s in your corporate office or retail location. You could show one large image on multiple screens by daisychaining screens; however, if you are looking for a solution that enables displaying higher resolution, or more flexibility with better robustness, you should considring using external video wall controlling solution.
Below are the detail reasons:
1. To achieve robust high-resolution imagery via multiple input signal sources
Comparing to building high performance (higher grade CPU and graphic card) PC server as high-resolution content player, it’s more economical though robuster to use multiple synchronized sources together with video wall controller to display super high resolution image on video wall.
Following is an example of using video wall controller to combine an ultra wide video wall in the resolution of 11,520×1080. (Read the article here)
2. For better display precision and clarity on the video wall
If your video wall is in an irregular shape, or consist of displays in various sizes or uneven bezels, using a video wall controller would allow you to crop and scale the image on each screen properly. For example, the “bezel correction (or compensation)”function offered in the video wall controller would help smooth image transition across bezels (refer to below picture), so you can utilize displays with thicker or uneven bezel.
3. To create asymmetric shape video walls for an eye-catching presentations
The video wall controllers allow image rotaion and cropping in each output independantly, so that you can easily create asymetric shape video wall like in below cases.
With some video wall controller model, you can create an even more irregular shape of video wall with image rotated in any angle (NOT limited to 90/180/270 degree). For example, in the following case study: How G413 elevate guest experience at the luxurious Andreus Resorts
4. Better flexibility to show contents from multiple sources and in various format
Video wall controllers allow you to show discrete contents on the video wall or in the way of PiP, PoP or multi-views (3/4/6/9…split views). Contents from different input devices can be directly shown on the video wall without any pre-rendering.
5. Pure hardware controlling system, no compatibility issue, no downtime
The video wall controller is a pure hardware solution, so there won’t be compatibility issue, system shutdown or ‘stuck’ software. It allows you to easily create and switch between different settings for multiple using scenarios in one system.
GeoBox video wall controllers
GeoBox provide various stand-alone video wall controller. Each of them supports high quality image processing. Support input up to 4K2K@60hz or 8K2K@30hz, 4:4:4 color sampling, 10bits processor, and output maximum true 4K resolution.
