Trendsetting Innovation: A Journey with Peter Hazenberg, Founder of VideobriX
In the heart of Amsterdam, at the , we had the pleasure of meeting Peter Hazenberg at work. He is a humble yet highly enthusiastic individual who carries a toolbox while climbing up and down ladders. Earlier this week, we had also the opportunity to visit ARMADA Music, a globally renowned music label co-founded in 2003 by legends Armin van Buuren, Maykel Piron, and David Lewis (AR-MA-DA). With an extensive catalog of over 40,000 titles and a constellation of star-studded artists,ARMADA Music shines as a testament to the industry’s heights.
Both projects, AUAS and ARMADA Music, were realized by VideobriX by including G901 UHD multi-viewer solutions. The name VideobriX first emerged in 2010 and has since become synonymous with excellence in the professional audiovisual and broadcasting industry after a decade of hard work. We are extremely fascinated and inspired by Peter’s journey and would like to share more about how and what brought him this far.
The Beat Begins
When I think about my ordinary life, the story of Peter stands out as truly remarkable. While most teenagers were focused on textbooks during their formative years, Peter was captivated by beats. At just 15 years old, he embarked on a lifelong journey that revolved around music, audiovisual equipment, and the art of DJing. While his classmates struggled with algebra, Peter was busy running around to find audiovisual equipment to host his own dance parties, not only as the host but also as the DJ himself.
The Academic Prelude
Peter’s early passion for music and technology led him to pursue a degree in broadcasting, with a particular interest in Telemetrics, during his university years. In the 80s and 90s, Telemetrics was a relatively unknown concept in higher education in the Netherlands, and Peter emerged as one of the pioneers in this innovative yet obscure field. His academic background proved to be the foundation for a remarkable career.
A Small Price of Passion
Certainly, the love and passion for music and DJing never left Peter alone. These hobbies occupied an equivalent or even greater amount of time than his studies. However, this intense passion also had its side effects. While his classmates were graduating at the age of 23 or 24, Peter continued to linger around the campus until the age of 27 (smile).
Rise to Resonance: A Journey into Broadcasting
In 1993, equipped with a solid academic foundation and a growing passion for broadcasting, Peter took his first professional step into the industry by joining Cinevideogroup, later known as EMG, as a sound engineer. This marked the beginning of an exciting journey, during which he swiftly rose through the ranks and embraced numerous challenges, first at NOB and later at Dutchview—organizations that played a pivotal role in shaping the broadcasting landscape of the Netherlands.
The Primal Form of VideobriX
The unveiling of Peter’s first company in 2008 was a pivotal moment that coincided with the release of the first iPhone and then iPhone 3G. It was a time when the world stood at the precipice of a digital revolution, and Peter’s launch of his first company echoed this paradigm shift. Suddenly, the world was on the brink of accessing audio and video content anytime, anywhere.
15 Years of Evolution
Fast forward 15 years, and Peter not only survived but thrived through migrations, challenges, and strategic adaptations. In 2010, the name VideobriX emerged, a fusion of “video” and “bricks,” symbolizing the endless technological possibilities that lay ahead.
Vision: Building a Future in Broadcast Integration
During our visit to VideobriX’s brand-new headquarters in Almere, we were greeted by three advanced live streaming vehicles preparing for diverse missions. This was a testament to Peter’s evolving vision, which had shifted from sports live streaming to encompass art and cultural projects.
We were filled with excitement as Peter shared his ambitious vision for the future. His dream was clear: prioritizing sustainable growth over mindless expansion. The goal was to become a leading system integration provider for specialized verticals. As a testament to their dedication, VideobriX is currently developing a brand new truck. This innovative piece of technology aims to seamlessly integrate with culture and daily life. Through this project, VideobriX aims to demonstrate not only their technical expertise but also the transformative power of technology itself. This is expected to set a new standard for future live streaming.
Pioneering the Evolution of Broadcasting
In the timeline of broadcasting revolutions, Peter Hazenberg’s journey, intertwined with the rise of VideobriX, is a true inspiration to me and many others. It represents a combination of passion, dedication, and innovation, where the pursuit of excellence knows no limits. Peter and VideobriX continue to push the boundaries of broadcasting, delivering not only technology but also unforgettable experiences. This journey proves that the path to innovation often involves exploring uncharted routes and maintaining unwavering passion. With each step, they reaffirm that in the realm of technology and broadcasting, the best is yet to come.
